Dear Reader,

As a young girl, my interest in music began early on, and my grandfather, Kim Green, played a significant role in nurturing this passion. I’d spend summers with him in the small town of Nordhiem, TX, on his property, where he’d let me ask questions about music, life, and God. He shared stories of teaching himself to play the guitar by ear as a young boy and how, at the age of 14, he started playing with bands in bars. At 17, he hitchhiked to Nashville to pursue music but eventually settled in Texas. My grandpa went on to write his own honky-tonks and old country ballads, and he also picked up the steel guitar, bass, fiddle, and mandolin. At 70, he still performs in local Texas bands and shares his wisdom with me on being practical, facing the realities of pursuing music, and touching on the importance of leading a fulfilling life beyond it.

Singing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, whether in the car, in my bedroom, or at school. During my teenage years, I sang in a few bands around San Antonio, and from time to time, my grandpa would call me and ask if I wanted to sing some old-time country songs with the bands he was playing in. In 2020, I started teaching myself how to play the guitar and write songs. As soon as I had the chance, I stepped out into the world and immersed myself in the music and art scene by introducing myself to people and putting myself out there. I’d make sure to appear at countless art and music shows, busk on city streets, perform at open mic nights, travel to nearby cities to perform at songwriter listening rooms, and showcase my songs at various venues.

In the spring of 2023, I went on my first mini Midwest tour with Nicky Diamonds, a San Antonio songwriter who performs blues, country, and rock n’ roll. During our tour, we had the opportunity to perform on Radio Venice, a local radio show in Venice Beach, California. When I returned home, I was interviewed and played my music on the Jeph Duarte Show for KPSA Radio, a local San Antonio station. In 2024, I performed an original song called "Desert Grit" on Chill Country Sessions, a Texas music series, to support local musicians and share their music with the world. The performance was held in a recording studio inside an old cargo warehouse at a 1930s train station in the Hill Country of Austin, Texas.

Most recently, I formed a band called Autumn Michele & The Pearls, featuring James Rodriguez on guitar, Jose Garza on bass, and Andrew Luna on drums! We perform a blend of my original songs and well-known covers in the blues, country, and rock n' roll genres. If you're interested in booking me or my band for a performance, contact me directly at autumnmicheletx@gmail.com or use the contact form on my website. P.S. I’m recording my first EP with Bexar Audio in the Austin and Liberty Hill, TX, area. It is scheduled to be released in 2025. Stay tuned!
